Two coasts. One week. Decide with numbers.

Every row on this page ends in a winner and the figure behind it. Hurghada holds 26°C from May to October. Antalya crosses the same mark mainly in July and August. Flight block times are quoted from named hubs, sea temperatures are quoted by month, and beach shelf is quoted in metres. Where the data does not separate the two coasts, the row says level rather than picking a winner.

Criterion winners

Six criteria settle a family beach week. Each row names one coast and the figure behind the win.

  1. Sea warmth, September and October

Hurghada holds 29 °C into early October. Antalya sits at 26 °C and cools from mid-October.

    Winner: Egypt

  2. Flight block time from Warsaw

    Antalya 2 h 55 m against Hurghada 4 h 35 m, for a four-year-old who naps badly in the air.

    Winner: Turkey

  3. Beach shelf for a four-year-old

30 m of walkable shelf to waist depth at Lara. Several Hurghada hotel beaches pass 1.4 m within 8 m of the waterline.

    Winner: Turkey

  4. Kids-club minimum age

4 years published on both coasts, with the same unverified wording from the resorts.

    Level

  5. Medical access inside 60 minutes

2 international-standard hospitals near Lara, 1 beside the Hurghada hotel strip.

    Winner: Turkey

  6. Family week cost in July

Two adults and two children: €2,140 in Hurghada against €2,680 in Antalya, flights included.

    Winner: Egypt

Block times are measured from Warsaw, Katowice, Chisinau and Bucharest. Departures from Ukrainian airports are not currently available.

Kids-club and hotel figures are published by the resorts and have not been independently inspected.

Set the coast, the month, the resort tier and the departure hub. The range recalculates in place and lists the figures it was built from.

Method and assumptions

Every figure behind a declared winner comes from one of three places: published airline schedules, national meteorological records for the two coastlines, or the resorts themselves. None of it was measured by us on site.

What this comparison does not cover

  • Beach shelf and water depth. The metres quoted for Lara and for Hurghada hotel beaches are resort-published and have not been independently inspected.
  • Kids-club ages, hotel ratings and amenity lists. Also resort-published, also unchecked by us. A minimum age of four at one property and six at the next is a brochure claim, not a verified one.
  • Flight block times. Measured from Warsaw, Katowice, Chisinau and Bucharest only. Departures from Ukrainian airports are not currently available, so routing through a western hub is assumed for every itinerary here.
  • Sea temperatures. Monthly averages for Antalya and Hurghada, not daily readings. A cold-current week in May can sit two degrees under the average.
  • Level results. Where two coasts land within half a degree or fifteen minutes of each other, the criteria table says level instead of forcing a winner. Read the declared winners in the criteria table.

The same caveats carry into the planner assumptions page, where the cost bands are derived.

Advisory: prices and schedules shift by season and by carrier. Re-check before booking.
